Five Ways to Build Links for Your Blog

As you can see from the early parts of this guide that link building for your blog is one of the most important things that you’ll do. If you don’t like building links then you probably won’t like blogging for too long because if you want to be successful then you need to have lots of backlinks. Content is also very important, but you could have all the content in the world and without any links pointing to your blog you will be in trouble and probably won’t make much money.

You need to build links in order to build your search engine rankings which will assist you in achieving search engine traffic. There are hundreds of ways you can build links for your blog and you should try using as many of these methods as possible. The broader your link building campaign is the better results you’ll notice from the search engines. The search engines love relevant and consistent links, which means you should consistently build links each day.

You should never build hundreds of links one week and then the next week not builds any links because then the search engines might think the links are unnatural and punish you. They will either sandbox you for awhile or completely take your site out of the listings which is two things you don’t want to happen to your blog. If you build links consistently then the search engines should see your links as natural and will reward you with good search engine rankings rather then punish you.

When you build links try only gaining about 20-50 links a day depending on how old your blog is. If your blog is brand new then you don’t want to build too many links daily, but as it gets older you can build more links each day for your blog. If you can consistently add content and links to your blog then you shouldn’t have a problem making some money within a few months of your blog being started. One more thing you need to remember is that you should always switch your anchor texts around because you don’t want all your links with same anchor text. The search engines don’t like this and will punish you if you don’t mix around your anchor texts so keep that in mind. Now that you know how to build your links properly we’ll take a look at five ways you can build links for your blog.

Social Bookmarking

There are hundreds of social bookmarking websites out there that you can use to submit your webpages into and they help a lot. You can get valuable one way links from submitting and you also can get some traffic coming from the bookmarks. This is a win-win link building situation and you should use these types of websites each day in your link building campaign.

Directory Submissions

You can find thousands of directories on the internet that allow you to submit your blog homepage into and this will give you a link. The more directories you submit to over time the more links you’ll have and the more powerful your search engine rankings will become. Make sure you switch up your anchor texts often for directory submissions since you’ll be making so many of them.

Article Submissions

Article submissions require that you write unique articles to submit to directories and although it takes time to write these articles it’s worth it. Many webmasters submit articles on a daily basis and many people make money from their article submissions. Make sure you never leave this out of your link building arsenal or else you could be losing money.

Blog Commenting

Becoming active on other blogs may seem like a chore and pointless, but you can gain lots of relevant links from your competition by commenting on their blog. Although there your enemy you should use your enemies blogs to gain links to help pass them in the SERP’s. Try to comment on a few blogs each day and if you can try switching up the blogs you comment on every month or two.

Forum Signatures

Most forums will allow you to post links in your signature line and you should make sure to take advantage of this when possible. Try registering for ten forums in your niche and then make some posts on them everyday. Over time you’ll quickly see your post count increase on all of the forums and you’ll soon have tons of links coming from these forums. Remember that you need a wide range of links pointing to your blog so the more forums you use the better as long as there relevant to your blog.
